Sampling
- Can’t survey entire population!

Population
All those in a group being studied, from which samples may be drawn
Random Sample
A sample that fairly represents a population because each member has an equal chance of inclusion
Stratified Sample
A sample that fairly represents a population because subgroups in the population are represented proportionally in the sample
LonGitudinal Method
Researchers select a group of participants & observe over time, often very long
Cross Sectional Method
Does not follow a group over time, but selects similar samples of different ages & compare behaviors of the different age groups
